20. 5  Ad j u s t i n g  t h e  Pr i m a r y  Ai r

The 

36-DVIE40LN-1

 includes an air shutter located under the door of the fireplace which may be used to adjust the primary air to 

achieve the ideal flame as shown in 

Fi g u r e  20. 5. 01

. To adjust, use a screwdriver to turn the air shutter adjustment screw as shown in 

Fi g u r e  20. 5. 02

. To open the air shutter and increase air flow to the burner, turn the adjustment screw clockwise. To close the air shutter 

and decrease air flow to the burner, turn the adjustment screw counterclockwise.

 Do not adjust primary air below specified opening on the rating plate.

20. 6  Re p l a c i n g  Ba t t e r i e s

1.

Ensure the fireplace is off and cool before servicing.

2.

Disconnect power supply to the fireplace.

3.

Remove the fireplace surround.

4.

Remove the battery holder from the velcro strip.

5.

Remove the expired batteries and replace with a 

fresh set*.

6.

Secure the battery holder in the velcro strip.

7.

Replace the surround and resupply power.

8.

Light the fireplace to verify proper operation.

Battery Specifications:

 4 x AA Batteries

*Ensure batteries make contact at both ends of each 

battery.
