18.8 Replacing the Control Board
Before you begin:
•
Ensure the fireplace is off and cool before servicing
•
Disconnect power supply to the fireplace (including backup batteries)
•
Turn off gas supply
•
Remove the barrier screen (see
Section 6.3
)
•
Remove the valve access cover (see
Section 6.5
)
CAUTION:
Label all wires prior to disconnection when servicing controls. Wiring errors can cause improper and dangerous
operation. Verify proper operation after servicing. This appliance, when installed, must be electrically grounded in accordance with
local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the
National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, or the Canadian Electrical code,
CSA C22.1

1.
Mark all the wires connected to the control board as you unplug them from the control board.
2.
Remove the two screws securing the control board to the bracket on the bottom of the fireplace.
3.
Install the new control board using the screws previously removed.
4.
Plug the wires into the control board.
