Maintenance

20.11  Replacing the Optional Fan Speed Control

Before you begin:

• 

Ensure the fireplace is off and cool before servicing

•  Ensure the gas supply is turned OFF and disconnect the power supply

• 

Flip down the control access cover (see 

Section 6.4

)

Step 1:

 Remove the fan power cord mounting bracket. Remove 

the fan speed control / piezo igniter bracket.

 Remove the knob.

Step 4:

 Unplug the fan speed control.

Installation is the reverse of removal.

Note:

 Fan wires should point down upon install.

CAUTION:

 Label all wires prior to disconnection when servicing controls. Wiring errors can cause improper and dangerous 

operation. Verify proper operation after servicing. This appliance, when installed, must be electrically grounded in accordance with 

local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the 

National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, or the Canadian Electrical code, 

CSA C22.1
