20.8 Replacing the Valve
Before you begin:
•
Ensure the fireplace is off and cool before servicing
•
Disconnect power supply to the fireplace and turn off gas
supply
•
Remove the fireplace surround (recommended) or open the
control access cover. See
Section 6.4
and
Section 16.0
•
Remove barrier screen. See
Section 14.0
•
Remove glass door. See
Section 15.0
•
Remove burner media. See
Section 18.0
•
Remove panel set (if applicable). See
Section 17
•
Remove the burner.
See Section 20.6
•
Remove the Pilot.
See Section 20.7
Step 1:
Use a 7/16" wrench to remove the pilot line from the
valve.

Step 2:
Use a 3/4" wrench to hold the fitting in the valve. Use a
second 3/4" wrench remove the burner gas line.

Step 3:
Use a 3/4" wrench to hold the fitting in the valve. Use a
second 3/4" wrench remove the gas inlet line.

Label all wires prior to disconnection when servicing controls. Wiring errors can cause improper and dangerous
operation. Verify proper operation after servicing. This appliance, when installed, must be electrically grounded in accordance with
local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the
National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, or the Canadian Electrical code,
CSA C22.1
