7.5. Connecting a WorldCast Equinox to a WorldNet Tokyo
Begin by setting up the IP addresses of the WorldNet Tokyo:
Set up
– Network - Address – e.g. (192.168.100.55)
Note:
You can check the availability of the WorldNet Tokyo by using PING
Set the Communications Interface to either X.21, NET or ISDN.
Before connecting to IP you must check that the Audio Encoder/Decoder settings are the same and the same
algorithm is being used on the WorldCast Equinox
– otherwise the connection will fail e.g. algorithm, sample
rate, bitrate and mode.
The following settings are available:-
Type
–set to algorithm required
Stream
– only displayed for AAC-LC (loas, adts)
Sample
Rate
– choose 32kHz, 44.1kHz or 48kHz as required
Bitrate
– choose as required
Mode
–choose Mono, Stereo, Joint Stereo, Dual Mono
Dependency
–choose Remote for ISDN or IP connections, Local for X.21 connections
Format
–choose Automatic for X.21 and IP connections, apt-X for apt-X or Enhanced
apt-X connections and CDQ H221 for MPEG Layer 2 connections for ISDN
connections
Ancillary
Data
–choose Left for apt-X based connections – ancillary data does not work with
WorldCast Equinox on any other algorithm
Now you must set up the Dial Destination for the Tokyo.
X.21
–set the Destination as either 1 or 2 (depending on X.21 port used)
IP
–set the Destination as IP address
ISDN
–set destination ISDN Numbers (Dest.1, Dest.2 etc.)
If an alarm condition exists then there must be an incompatible setting between WorldCast Equinox and
WorldNet Tokyo.
Note:
When connecting to an APT Tokyo codec you must use port 5004 on the Equinox
Note:
When connecting a WorldNet Tokyo to a WorldCast Equinox using IP you must start the con-
nection from the Tokyo first
– otherwise the Tokyo will not frame
Note:
When connecting a WorldNet Tokyo to a WorldCast Equinox using IP and Enhanced apt-X
®
audio profile the Autodetect Hardware control on the IP receive path must be disabled and the re-
ceiver set to 3
rd
party hardware.
Note:
When using CDQ/H221 mode, note that 32 and 44.1kHz are not supported.
