You can use the QuantStudio

™

6 or 7 Flex System touchscreen to view instrument

version data, such as instrument serial number and version numbers for most

instrument components and firmware.

From the Main Menu of the instrument touchscreen, touch Tools, then touch

About the Instrument.

When you are finished, touch to return to the Main Menu.

The QuantStudio

™

6 and 7 Flex Systems feature a secure mode that can be enabled to

restrict local instrument functionality. When security is enabled, use of the

touchscreen is restricted to administrative functions that change the instrument

settings. After the system is secured, you must enter an administrator password to

modify the instrument settings, use the firmware tools, or deactivate the secure mode.

IMPORTANT!

If you enable or disable the QuantStudio

™

6 and 7 Flex Systems

security, auditing, and electronic signature feature, you must similarly enable or

disable the QuantStudio

™

Real-Time PCR Software security (see “Access the Security

screen and enable or disable security“ on page 131). The QuantStudio

™

Real-Time

PCR Software cannot connect to the QuantStudio

™

6 and 7 Flex Systems that do not

match security settings.

Note:

Secure mode limits the number of features that are available from the system

touchscreen. It does not provide user authentication functionality through the

instrument touchscreen.

If the instrument is in standby, tap the touchscreen to activate it, then tap .

In the main menu, tap Settings, then tap Set Administrator Options.

In the Set Administrator Options screen, tap Secure Environment to enable

(checked) or disable (unchecked) system security.

(Optional) To change the administrator password:

Tap Change Password.

Enter the current password, then tap Done.

Enter the new password, then tap Done.

Reenter the password when prompted.

Tap OK when prompted.

Note:

The default password for the instrument touchscreen is password;

however, the password can be changed during installation.

Tap Save.

Tap the Administrator Password field, enter the administrator password, then

tap Done.

Tap to return to the main menu.
