APCON, Inc.

ACI-3144-XR Chassis User Manual

Chapter 3. Specifications and compatibility

• Connect the chassis directly to the DC supply system earthing electrode conductor.

The chassis may also be connected to a bonding jumper from an earthing terminal bar
or bus to which the DC supply system earthed electrode conductor is connected.

• Locate the DC supply source within the same premises as the chassis.
• Any switching or disconnecting devices shall not be placed in the earthed circuit

conductor between the DC source and the point of connection on the earthed
electrode conductor.

Ensure that the socket outlet from which the equipment is powered provides a connection
to the building protective earth. If not, the service person planning for installation must
arrange for the installation of a protective earthing conductor from the separate earthing
terminal on the chassis to the protective earth wire in the building.

Specifications for interfaces

The following are the specifications for the

 system controller

interfaces on an

I

NTELLA

F

LEX

XR chassis.

LAN ports

The LAN ports on the Controller panel manage the network connection from an
I

NTELLA

F

LEX

XR chassis to your network. Specifications for the

LAN ports 1 and 2

 on the

Controller panel are as follows.

Serial port

The serial port is used for remote software management. Connect the RJ-45 module cable
from the RS-232 serial port on the back panel of the chassis to the COM port on a host
laptop or desktop, then use CLI commands to configure the unit.

The specifications for the serial port are as follows:

Use the RJ-45 modular cable and the RJ-45 to DB-9 adapter to connect the chassis from
the serial port directly to a laptop or other host computer. This connection lets you
communicate directly with the chassis using CLI commands. For connection instructions,
see

Use CLI to configure the chassis

on page 64.

The following tables list the pin signals for each connector.
