The system also supports the coupling ring that can connect 2 or more X-Ring group for
the r edundant bac kup function and dual homing function that prevent c onnection lose
between X-Ring group and upper level/core switch.
Enable X-Ring:
To enable the X-Ring function. Marking the check box to enable the
X-Ring function.
Enable Ring Master:
Mark t he c heck box f or enabl ing t his machine t o be a r ing
master.

are basically assigned to be
forwarding por ts ex cept for the R ing M aster s witch. With t he R ing M aster s witch,
one of its two Ring Ports is the blocking port and another one is the forwarding port.
Once its forwarding port fails, the system will automatically upgrade its blocking port
to be the forwarding port of the Ring Master switch.
Enable Coupling Ring:
To e nable t he c oupling r ing f unction. M arking t he c heck
box to enable the coupling ring function.
Coupling port:
Assign the member port which is connected to the other ring group.
Control port:
When Couple R ing c heck b ox i s m arked, y ou ha ve t o as sign t he
control port to form a couple-ring group between the two X-rings.
Enable Dual Homing:
Set up one of the ports on the switch to be the Dual Homing
port. F or a s witch, t here i s onl y one D ual H oming por t.
