D8. TIMING OF THE HOOK AND THE NEEDLE
Make the settings below with the stitch length set to 0.
1. Turn the handwheel and raise the needle bar
2.3 mm from the lowest position. Check if the
needle ② and the tip of the hook ③ align
with each other. If not, loosen the two screws
④ of the small gear and rotate the hook to
bring its tip to the center of the needle. We call
this position "the machine at the set point of
2.3 mm."
2. Adjust the height of the needle bar to the point when “the machine is at the set point of
2.3 mm”, the hook tip is about 0.5 mm above the upper edge of the needle eye. Loosen the
needle bar screw ①and adjust the distance between the upper edge of the needle eye ②
and the hook tip ③ to 0.5 mm. Tighten the screw.
