3 Preparation and startup
3.1 Before starting
Before using your wrapper, check that:
l
The tractor has sufficient hydraulic oil.
l
The stretcher rollers are clean. If needed, clean
them with penetrating oil, denatured alcohol, or
paint thinner.
l
The wrapper is lubricated and greased (see
"Maintenance and adjustment schedule" on page
25).
l
The bale counter is properly programmed (see
"Operation of the IG-C3 bale counter" on page 20).
l
The wrapper is correctly hitched to the tractor (see
"Hitching the wrapper to the tractor" on page 13).
l
The tilting table is set to the right height (see
"Adjusting the tilting table" on page 14).
l
The plastic cutter guard has been removed (see
"Removing the plastic cutter guard" on page 16).
3.2 Moving the wrapper
Your wrapper can be moved over short and medium
distances. It can be lifted entirely by the tractor when it is
properly attached to the tractor's hydraulic arms. When
moving your wrapper, follow all the safety guidelines and
recommendations in this section.
Moving the wrapper safely
Hitch the wrapper to the tractor's hydraulic arms and
secure the pins with lynch pins ( Figure 6 ). If you are
travelling on a public road, obey your local traffic
regulations for agricultural machinery, including regulations
for the operation of agricultural machinery by minors.
Regardless of how the wrapper is
moved, do not allow anyone to stand
on the machine.
Ensure that no people or animals are
within 5 m (16 ft.) of the wrapper
before moving it.
3.3 Hitching the wrapper to the tractor
Ensure that you hitch the wrapper to the movable hydraulic
arms (three-point hitch) (Figure 7 and Figure 8) and secure
the pins with lynch pins.
