User Guide – Round Bale Wrapper RB-200
Anderson Group
2 Safety
Your Anderson wrapper was designed to minimize risk to
the operator. Nevertheless, it must only be used for its
intended purpose. Misuse of the machine may cause
serious injury to yourself or others.
The wrapper has a hydraulic system and moving
mechanical parts. All these components can cause serious
or even fatal injury to people and animals. It is strongly
recommended that you carefully read and follow the
guidelines below.
Operator skills and abilities
Before using your Anderson wrapper, familiarize yourself
with the operating procedures. Also insist that everyone
who uses your wrapper follow these procedures. Ensure
that all operators of your wrapper:
l
Are responsible;
l
Have been trained to safely operate the wrapper;
l
Know the emergency phone numbers;
l
Can locate the first aid kit.
Operation
Only use the wrapper to wrap round hay bales that are 1.2
to 1.52 m (4 to 5 ft.) long and 1.68 m (66 in.) or less in
diameter.
Avoid
all other uses, such as transporting
people, animals, or hay bales.
Safety perimeter
Avoid distractions while installing or operating the wrapper.
While you are operating the wrapper, you must be the only
person moving around, and especially behind, the machine.
Maintain a 5 m (16 ft.) security
perimeter around the machine when
it is operating. Keep all other people,
and
especially
children
and
pets,
away from the wrapping area. Failure
to do so can cause serious or even
fatal injury.
Hitching to the tractor safely
To prevent the machine from moving when it is operating,
choose flat terrain.
The machine must be hitched to the movable hydraulic
arms (three-point hitch), and the pins must be secured with
a lynch pin (Figure 4).

Basic safety guidelines
Never climb, or allow anyone else to
climb, on the machine.
Climbing on the machine can cause
serious or even fatal injury. It is one
of the primary causes of accidents
related to its use.
Before starting the wrapper:
l
Locate and understand all warning labels on the
wrapper.
l
Know how to do an emergency stop on your
wrapper.
l
Ensure that all the tractor controls are in neutral
before starting the engine.
l
Remove any hay that is stuck or has collected in the
moving parts to ensure that they can move freely.
l
Immediately replace any defective or worn parts.
NOTE:
See "Maintenance" on page 25 for a
complete
description
of
the
required
maintenance.
While operating the wrapper:
l
Keep your hands and feet away from moving parts,
such as the chains, gears, and blade. Be especially
careful around the plastic cutter blade.
l
Wear protective clothing. Avoid scarves and loose
clothing (pants, shirts or coats) that can easily get
stuck in the equipment’s moving parts.
