7 Wrapping Settings
Adjusting the Number of Plastic Film Layers
You already know that it is possible to increase the number of plastic film layers by moving the
wrapping speed control lever to a higher number. Conversely, moving the speed control lever
to a lower number increases the number of layers. Remember that each full revolution of the
hoop represents two layers of plastic film due to the two plastic film stretchers.
On the other hand, you may simply want to add one or two additional layers where the
separate bales meet in order to have a more airtight and more solid continuous bale row
without adding extra plastic film everywhere. In this case, you must move the pointer towards
the rear (Figure 7.1). This pointer is controlled by the pusher lever and releases the hoop. This
causes the hoop to begin wrapping a bit earlier. You can also move the pointer forwards to
achieve the opposite effect.

Adjusting the Distance the Pusher Travels
The position of the stopper on the slotted rail must be adjusted according to the length of the
bale (4 feet or 5 feet), with some free space left on the table for the next bale. Since the
stopper determines where the pusher will stop, moving the stopper forward will increase the
distance the pusher travels and moving the stopper backward will decrease the distance. All
you have to do is remove the small ring pin, manually remove the stopper, and place the
stopper in the desired position. Put the ring pin firmly back in place (Figure 7.2).
