5.3 Loading logs
NOTE: Before loading logs, use the stabilizers to steady the
trailer (see "Placing the stabilizers" on page 45).
To load logs:
1. Start the hydraulic power unit.
2. Using the hydraulic controls (see "Controls" on page 43), operate the jib boom and main
boom to lift logs and place them on the trailer. The logs must be placed parallel to the centre
bar.
Start by loading the logs nearest the trailer. The weight of the logs in the trailer will create a
counterweight, allowing you to fully extend the boom without risk of tipping the trailer.
NOTE: If the trailer seems unstable, immediately lower the load
and move the trailer closer to the logs.
Remember to raise the stabilizers and jack before moving
the machine.
5.4 Unloading logs
NOTE: Before unloading logs, use the stabilizers to steady the
trailer (see "Placing the stabilizers" on page 45).
To unload logs:
1. Start the hydraulic power unit.
2. Using the hydraulic controls (see "Controls" on page 43), operate the jib boom and main
boom to unload logs from the trailer.
Start by placing logs far from the trailer and then work towards you. The weight of the logs in the
trailer will create a counterweight, allowing you to fully extend the boom without risk of tipping the
trailer.
When nearing completion, lift fewer logs with the grapple each time to avoid destabilizing the trailer
as the counterweight decreases. Use extra caution when the boom is fully extended.
