Rack detection
The rack detection will be realized with specific positions of magnets on the bottom side
of the tray. During the process of initialization the tray turns around and the positions of
magnets will be detected. Please test the rack detection as described below:
Place the tray on the sampler.
Connect the sampler by using the RS 232 interface with the service program (PC) via
a Null modem cable (see Fig. 22 on page 20).
Provide the power supply to the sampler.
The self-initialization of sampler starts.
Start the service program with the "geraetetest.exe".
Select the interface in the configuration.
Select sampler with the menu point D

Start the communication with the sampler.
Set <I> for initialization of the sampler.
Read out the rack type with command <T>:
Txx = AS 10e
T71 = AS 21hp

Test of magnetic stirrer (only AS 21hp)
The AS21hp contains a device to move (turn) magnetic stir bars inside the vials. For
testing of the magnetic stirrer device please do the following activities:
Place the tray on the sampler.
Put a vial with a stirring magnet on position 1.
Connect the sampler by using the RS 232 interface with the service program (PC) via
a Null modem cable (see Fig. 22 on page 20).
Provide the power supply to the sampler.
The self-initialization of sampler starts.
Start the service program with the "geraetetest.exe".
Select the interface in the configuration.
Select sampler with the menu point D

Start the communication with the sampler.

<GoTo> Position 1.
Start the stirring function with command <R500>.
The stirring magnet rotates evenly.
