Confirm that Minimum Collection Seconds (Settings in the Options Menu) is set to
60 (suggested) and Minimum Collection Points (Settings in the Options Menu) is set
to 500 (suggested).

Press the Start button to begin the collection process.
f.
The word “Collecting” should appear in the upper
-right part of the screen.
g.
Wait for the collection process to complete. This should take a minute or so. Do
not move the GPS antenna during the collection process.
i.
Both collection settings need to be completed before the control
point will be marked.
h.
A new red marker should appear on the map when the control point has been
created.
i.
Repeat these steps to create additional control points.
j.
When finished, choose Control Points and then Save from the Options menu (
⋮
).
k.
Choose a file name and folder for your control points file and press OK.

Align Current Location With A Control Point
a.
Move the GPS antenna to a collected known control point location.
b.
Press the control point marker.
c.
An info window should appear showing the name and description of the control
point.
d.
Press the info window.
e.
A properties dialog should appear showing the coordinates of the control point and
the difference between those coordinates and the current coordinates of the GPS
device.
f.
Press Lock Correction to align your current location with the control point.
g.
The control point marker should turn blue to confirm that GPS values are being
adjusted to match that control point’s coordinates.
This gives you a reference point to compare when testing the GPS accuracy. Only Lock Correction
one time.

Save Control Points
To save when using control points select Control Points, then Save As and insert them into the
desired folder
