Changing from a video call back to a normal call
If either person presses
1
to return to a voice call,
the other person will be warned on the display (see
right):
The other person’s image will disappear and the
message:
Other person has switched
video off or disconnected
will be displayed.
Note, during video disconnection, you won’t
be able to hear the other person and they
won’t be able to hear you. Wait about 10
seconds for the voice call to resume.
&
After video disconnection, you may press
VIDEO
to re-initiate a video
connection. Note, if it was you who originally initiated the video connection,
then re-initiating it will not incur an additional video payment
within the
same phone call
.
Notes
♦
If the other person wishes to accept your video call, they must do so
within 30 seconds
. If they don’t press their
VIDEO
button during this period, the
video connection will not take place. If the video connection fails because the other
person wasn’t ready, you can try again if you wish.
♦
During video calls, the
sound
is digitally compressed. For best results, both
parties should avoid talking at the same time, otherwise parts of the conversation
may be lost.
♦
If the other person selects
Camera privacy
on their videophone, note that their
image will
freeze
on your screen. (It will unfreeze when they switch
Camera
privacy
off again.)
♦
If a
Call Waiting
notification is received during a video call, the video connection
will automatically stop and you will be returned to a normal voice call. After a few
seconds you will hear a Call Waiting beep – you may then take the waiting call.
If required, you can temporarily
disable
Call Waiting so that any video call you
make is not interrupted. For further information, see ‘Call Waiting’ on page 32.
