6.5 Maintenance of the engine
Attention
Only the maintenance work which has to be performed daily
is included in this operating manual. Please refer to the
engine operating manual and to the maintenance
instructions and intervals listed therein.

6.5.2 Filling up with fuel
Danger
–
Only top up with a stationary engine.
–
No naked lights.
–
Do not smoke.
–
Do not fill up in a closed room.
–
Clean around the fuel filler pipe (1).
–
Open the fuel filler pipe and
–
visually check the fuel level.
–
Top up as necessary

Close the tank tightly.

only use diesel fuel in accordance with DIN 51801
6.5.3 Checking the engine oil level
–
Park the machine horizontally.
–
Clean the area around the dipstick (2).
–
Draw out dipstick;
–
wipe off with clean, lint-free cloth and insert all way.
–
Draw out dipstick again and check oil level.
–
If necessary, top up oil level to upper marking on dipstick.
–
Check o-ring on dipstick and replace if necessary.
–
Allow the engine to run for approximately 1 minute.
–
Check oil level again with engine switched off.
6.5.4 Check intake/outlet openings
–
Check intake opening for combustion air and cooling air
intakes.
–
Remove coarse obstructions such as leaves, stones and
earth.
6.5.5 Cleaning the air filter element
Important
Filter elements can be cleaned up to two times, but should be
replaced after a maximum of 2 years.
–
Tap out the filter or blow it clean, from inside out, using
compressed air (max. 5 bar).
–
In the event of moist or oily soiling, the filter elements should
be replaced.
6.5.6 Draining off water (fuel tank)
The fuel tank must be checked once a week for accumulations of
water in order to prevent water from penetrating into the sensitive
injection system.
–
Unscrew screw (12) to last turn on the thread.
–
Collect drops which flow out in a clear container.
–
Determine by visual inspection whether water is draining out
(water settles to the bottom of the container).
–
As soon as fuel flows out, close the screw again.
