3.7 Operation engine
3.7.1 Starting the engine (manual start)
Attention
Machines with electric starter: Never hand start with a
disconnected battery, this leads to the immediate
destruction of the regulator.
–
Set the engine speed control lever (1) to full power (II).
–
Move the decompressor lever (2) until it stops in start position.
–
Insert the starting crank (4) and turn it with increasing speed.
–
As soon as the engine starts, withdraw the starting crank and
set the engine speed lever to idle (I).
–
Allow the engine to run for 2 – 3 minutes to warm up.
In case of error, return the decompressor lever to its initial
position and repeat the starting procedure.
3.7.2 Starting the engine (electric start)
–
Set the engine speed control lever to full power.
–
In very cold conditions, the decompressor lever (2) should, in
addition, be moved until it stops in start position.
–
Insert the starter key (5) and turn to «I»; battery charge
indicator (6) light up, the signalling device sounds (7).
–
Turn starter key to «II»; when the engine starts, release the
starter key.
Important
The load indicator light (6) monitors the functioning of the
alternator. It illuminates with the engine stopped in the ‘ignition
on’ position „I“ and must go out when the engine runs.
–
Allow the engine to run for 2 – 3 minutes to warm up.
Attention
–
Allow the engine to come to rest before any repeated
attempt to start it.
–
Never activate the starter while the engine is running.
3.7.3 Switching off the engine
Attention
Do not switch off the engine using the decompressor lever.
–
Set the engine speed lever to idle.
–
Pull the stop lever (3) and hold it until the engine stops.
Additionally with electro start:
–
The load indicator lamp lights up.
–
Turn the ignition key to „0“, the load indicador lamp should go
out.
Important
If the starter key is not returned to «0», the signalling device will
sound; there is a risk of the battery being totally drained.
–
Remove the ignition key.
Danger
At the end of a working day or a break protect the ignition
key from unauthorised access.
