Caution! Ionizing radiation!
This spectrometer operates with ionizing radiation (X-rays). The safety devices
ensure that the spectrometer can be operated only in a safe, closed and shielded
condition.

Never tamper with the safety devices.

If you are concerned that the safety devices do not work properly, shut down
the spectrometer immediately. Please contact your Service Center.

The results of the ambient dose rate measurements are an integral part of the
documentation supplied with the spectrometer (radiation protection
certificate).
Caution! Risk of injury due to laser radiation!
The instrument uses a laser pointer of protection class II. Your eyes will suffer
damage if you look at this laser pointer for an extended period of time.

Therefore never look directly at the laser pointer.
Note
If the instrument is in its normal operating mode (standby or measuring mode), it
produces ionizing radiation (X-rays).
The safety circuits in the instrument are designed so that either the sample
chamber flap or the shutter must be closed. Otherwise, the X-ray tube will be
deactivated.
The sample chamber flap is locked while the shutter is open. This prevents
accidental opening of the sample chamber flap.
The sample chamber flap can only be opened again after the shutter is closed (at
the end of the measurement).
For your safety, the safety circuits are checked automatically.
