SPOT Actuator
4.1 Configuring your SPOT Thermometer to work with the Actuator
To work with the actuator, the SPOT Thermometer must be running Firmware
version 1020 or later.
A firmware package is available from
www.ametek-land.com.
The ‘Scan’ option on the I/O menu of the SPOT thermometer must be set
in order for the actuator to be able to switch on the SPOT LED during a
scan. The 4 mA and 20 mA temperature limits of the SPOT must be matched
to those of the actuator to enable correct temperature measurement and
alignment.
If the actuator is being used with an application thermometer such as the
SPOT AL EQS, it is advisable to set a minimum expected emissivity on the
Settings/App page of the SPOT Webserver. This will prevent spikes being
seen at the start and end of a peak when the target spot only partially
illuminates the hot object.
If the actuator is being used with a type of SPOT Thermometer other than
AL EQS, the type of SPOT Thermometer must be selected in the actuator
settings. See Section 4.5.2. An incorrect thermometer type can lead to an
offset in identified hotspot position.
Refer to the User Guide supplied with your SPOT Thermometer for further
instructions on how to access and adjust settings in the SPOT Thermometer
software menu.
