20.13 Replacing the Fan
CAUTION:
Label all wires prior to disconnection when servicing controls. Wiring errors can cause improper and dangerous
operation. Verify proper operation after servicing. This appliance, when installed, must be electrically grounded in accordance with
local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the
National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, or the Canadian Electrical code,
CSA C22.1

Before you begin:
•
Ensure the fireplace is off and cool before servicing.
•
Disconnect power supply (including battery backup) to the
fireplace and turn off gas supply.
•
Remove the fireplace surround. See
Section 16.0
.
•
Remove barrier screen (recommended). See
Section 14.0
.
•
Remove door assembly (recommended). See
Section 15.0
.
•
Remove burner media (recommended). See
Section 18.0
.
•
Remove panel set (recommended). See
Section 17.0
.
•
Disconnect venting and remove the insert from the masonry
opening
1. Remove the (10) screws securing the back of the fireplace.

2. Unplug the old fan.

3. Remove the nuts securing the fan mounting bracket to the
back of the fireplace.

4. Remove the (3) tek screws securing the fan to the fan
mounting bracket to the back of the fireplace.

5. Installation is the reverse of removal. Light the fireplace and verify proper operation to complete fan replacement.
