Appendix A - Configuring Dynamic Lights (Optional)

The acrylic side panels are illuminated by Dynamic Lights that run the height of the panels. The side panel lights

change colors according to the passage mode and reflect the User Status Lights when activated. The light colors and

effects are customized through the SU4500 LED Configuration Utility. Contact Alvarado Technical Support before

changing the LED light settings.

Tools Required

Laptop with Ethernet port

•

Ethernet patch cable

•

SU4500 LED Configuration Utility

•

SU4500 Turnstile IP address (if changed from the default IP of: 192.168.0.100)

Profiles

:

• Controlled Mode - Requires valid credentials to gain access.
• Free Pass Mode - Credentials not required for access.
• No Pass Mode - Access is not allowed; credential validation disabled.
• Visitor Mode - Bi-directional access allowed without credentials.

• Emergency Override Mode - Upon receipt of a fire alarm, the barriers open towards the exit direction to

permit free egress in an emergency,

• No Barrier Mode - Barrier free operation, valid credentials required to gain access.
• Activate - The turnstile opening upon a successful credential validation.
• Reject - The turnstile remaining locked after a failed credential validation.
• Alarm - The turnstile in an alarm condition.

Each LED group has the capability to change its response during different operation modes through the use of

profiles. The operation mode profiles consist of 3 colors, a transition type, and a transition delay. The profile displayed

is dependent on the turnstile operation mode - for example: while in controlled mode, the controlled profile is

displayed; during an alarm condition, the alarm profile is displayed, etc. Colors are customized using RGB values.
Below are the operation mode profiles within each LED group:

Before Beginning

The LED Configuration tool is used to configure the standard set of SU4500 lights, End & Status, as well as the

dynamc light option. When using the LED Configuration tool, you must select whether the turnstile you’re configuring

contains dynamic lights or standard set.
