Chapter 7

The Firmware Upgrade Utility

Introduction

The purpose of the Windows-based Firmware Upgrade Utility is to provide an 
automated process for upgrading the KH1508

A

 / KH1516

A

 and compatible 

adapter cable firmware. The program comes as part of a Firmware Upgrade 
Package that is specific for each device. 

The latest revisions of new firmware for the KH1508

A

 / KH1516

A

, and 

supported KVM Adapter Cables are posted as Firmware Upgrade Packages on 
our web site. Check the website regularly to find the latest firmware packages 
and information relating to them. 

Note:

1. A single upgrade package contains the upgrade files for the Main 

Board and all the supported KVM Adapter Cables.

2. KVM Adapter Cables are referred to as 

I/O Modules

 in some dialog 

boxes.

Before You Begin

To prepare for the firmware upgrade, do the following:

1. From a computer that is not part of your KVM installation go to the ATEN 

Internet support site and choose the model name that relates to your device 
to get a list of available Firmware Upgrade Packages.

2. Choose the Firmware Upgrade Package you want to install (usually the 

most recent), and download it to your computer.
