GENERAL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Altec Lansing’s 4048A digital processor is a professional matrix
solution for your permanent audio system install needs. The
4048A features four (4) balanced line-level inputs and eight (8)
balanced line-level outputs. Any input can be routed and
summed to any output or combination of outputs. Mute, gain
and EQ controls are found on all inputs and outputs. High/low
pass filters, delays, polarity invert and compressor/limiters are on
the outputs. Output compressor/limiters can be linked for
smooth concurrent operation.
There are no front panel controls to entice dedicated meddlers.
Set up and Programming the 4048A is only through the Altec
Lansing Maestro software (included). RS-232 serial ports are
located on the front and back to improve ease of field service.
Eight (8) of the eighteen (18) presets can be recalled using a
simple contact closure. All inputs are electronically balanced
and all outputs are active servo-balanced.
All inputs and outputs use a Euroblock connector located on the
back panel. System integrators and consultants will appreciate
these connectors as they allow bare wire to be easily connected
to the 4048A without expensive connectors and soldering.
APPLICATIONS
The Altec Lansing 4048A can be used to drive 4 two-way active
floor monitors from 4 monitor mixes. It can drive a three-way
mono main and 3 floor monitor mixes, or stereo two-way mains
and a mono sub with stereo delays. The 4048A can be a four-
room combining system with extra outputs for recording or media
sends. The versatility of this processor makes it a perfect choice
for audio systems in auditoriums, Houses of Worship, meeting
rooms, and rental applications.
