New Container Setup Guide for Test Settings
Step
Procedure description
1. Adjust probe
and fill
pressure
To start adjust the probe pressure to 20 LBS, and the Fill pressure to 1 PSI. This may
change later on in the procedures.
The probe and fill pressure is adjusted by using
the adjustment knobs and gauges located on the
cabinet above the test probe carriage.
The probe pressure can also be
viewed in the test pressure settings
and manual test displays
2. Place a
container under
a test probe
Make sure the container is centered under the probe porpely.
3. Understanding
the Fill
Pressure
versus the
container size
HMI Navigate to the Manual test display
To set the fill pressure properly it is necessary to use
the manual test display. The fill pressure and the fill
time together will determine the final peak pressure
obtained during the leak test. “
The goal for an
accurate leak test is to fill the container in a very
short amount of time as well as the same amount
of time regardless of the container size.”
To
accomplish this, the pressure flow rate (Fill PSI) must
be set according to the container size. Typically the
larger the container the higher the higher the fill
pressure will need to be. The smaller the container
the lower the fill pressure setting will need to be.
4. Setting Fill
Pressure
Push Manual
Test
What to look for when pushing manual test:
Check to ensure green indicating lights all stay green.
This indicates the pressure in the container fell within
proper range of .5 to 25 IWC for part pressure, and it also
met the peak pressure range requirements. The peak
pressure dial indicator should also fall as close to in-
between the min and max range as possible.
If the guage display is similar to this one then the Fill prssure probaly does not need
adjsutment.
If any of the indicators turned red or the peak pressure did not fall within range proceed to
the applicable step 5-9. Otherwise proceed to Step 10
