Machine Speeds Introduction
There are basically five possible Speed Modes for running production, they are, Manual speed, Primed No-Back,
Primed Backlog, Two Speed and Three Speed. With the exception of the Manual Speed Mode all of the modes
depend upon one or more photo eyes (PE) to function. The help screens available online and listed below can be
used as a quick reference, both in deciding which mode to run, and for a greater understanding of how the speed
modes function. Each of the speed modes is described in the table below.

Speed
This Mode does not depend on any of the speed PE’s to run production. Whatever the
current CPM value is set is the speed the SpeedGlider will run at.
Primed No-Back LOG
The “Primed No-Back” Mode (PNBL) requires the use of one PE input and if setup
properly will run even if one container passes by the PE. For proper operation of the
PNBL the PE must be set for proper delays. The PE on delay must be set at (0) and
the off delay set to desired machine stopping point after a single container has passed
the PE.
Primed Back LOG
The “Primed Backlog” Mode (PBL) requires the use of one Speed PE input and if setup
properly will run base on a backlog of containers. For proper operation of the PBL the
PE must be setup for proper delays. The PE on delay must be set long enough to
where at least a back log of container can occur before the SpeedGlider begins to run.
In other words one container by itself passing by the speed PE should not trigger the
PE. The off delay can be set to the desired machine stopping point after the back log
of containers has passed the PE.
TWO SPEED
The “Two Speed” Mode requires the use of two PE inputs and if setup properly will run
base on a backlog when both PE are blocked. For proper operation of the PBL the PE
must be setup for proper delays. The PE on delay must be set so containers running
by at a normal speed do not trigger the on delay input.
THREE SPEED
The “Three Speed” Mode requires the use of three speed PE’s inputs and if setup
properly will run base on a backlog when PE’s are blocked. PE’s inputs and if setup
properly will run base on a backlog when all three PE’s are blocked. For proper
operation of the PBL the speed PE must be setup for proper delays. The PE on delay
must be set so containers running by at a normal speed and do not trigger the on delay
input. When the proper PE conditions are met the
