The integrated dialler can be programmed freely. Always make sure that besides a telephone number, also
an account number is programmed! As long as one of these two is not present, the control panel sees it as an
invalid number and will ignore it. When a private number is programmed, you can program a fictive account
number, such as 1234. Of course, the number of dial attempts should not be programmed to 0.
In the Netherlands there is no more dial tone between the net number and subscriber number, so do
not
place a “-“ sign between these numbers, otherwise the control panel will wait for a dial tone. If you don not
know whether this applies to your country as well, please check with the national telephone company.
Besides the default numbers 0-9, also some special characters can be used:
w (or W) wait 2 seconds without dial tone detection
E
wait for 1600Hz tone (semaphone acceptation tone)
-
(minus sign) wait until a dial tone is detected
*
use the *- sign (from AlphaVision NG v2.0)
#
use the #- sign (from AlphaVision NG v2.0)
Default setting is that the control panel, after picking up the telephone line, always waits for a valid dial
tone. If no valid dial tone is heard within 10 seconds, the line is put down and the dial attempt is considered
as a fail. Depending on the number of dial attempts, the control panel will initiate another call. When a call
should be made without waiting for a dial tone, a “W” must be programmed in front of the telephone
number. In this case the control panel will, after picking up the telephone line, wait for 2 seconds without
detecting for a dial tone, before it starts to make its call.
Example:
When the telephone number 020-1234567 must be called from a telephone exchange with a rather
unreliable telephone exchange, and a 0 must be dialed first to reach an outside line, this can be done by
programming the telephone number as W0-0201234657. In this case the line is picked up, after 2 seconds a
0 is dialed (no matter if there was a good dial tone or not), the control panel waits for a dial tone and then the
telephone number 0201234567 is dialed.
The option
IDK/TDK
allows you to choose if the programmed number is dialed with puls-dial (IDK) or
with tone-dial (TDK). In the Netherlands, tone-dial can be used on all locations.
Besides the telephone number the dialler must also know what to do after the programmed number has been
dialed. The communication with the dialed telephone number is set in a protocol.
