Fitting Instructions

Full Face Masks
The respirator should not be used in an oxygen deficient or oxygen
enriched environment, for escape purposes or by people with facial
hair growth between the skin and face-piece sealing surface such as
stubble, beard growth or sideburns, which cross the respirator surface
or in an atmosphere where contaminant concentrations exceed those
levels that are dangerous to life.

DONNING
WARNING:
For those wearing corrective spectacles,
the Alpha Solway Spectacle kit must be fitted, as normal
glasses cannot be worn under the mask In order to
guarantee a proper fit.
1.
Select the appropriately-sized mask [see size guide].
2.
Slacken the head harness straps. Move the head
harness upwards and spread with both hands, place
your chin in the face-piece and pull the head harness
over your head [see Diagram 1].
3.
Ensure head harness is sitting correctly and not
twisted [see Diagram 2].
4.
Tension the straps in pairs by pulling the free strap
ends towards the rear of the head [see Diagram 3].
5.
Adjust the fit of the mask on your face so that it fits
firmly but comfortably.
6.
Perform a user seal check and readjust if required
[see Diagram 4].
DOFFING
1.
Slacken the straps in pairs.
2.
Pull the head harness forward over your head
and remove the respirator.
3.
Decontaminate, clean, dry and store respirator
as required.

PRE CHECKS
WARNING:
Before donning the respirator,
always perform the following checks:
Ensure the respirator is clean and dry.
Check the respirator, valves, harness and visor for
cracks, missing parts and other defects.
Check that the appropriate filters are undamaged
and installed correctly. When fitting the filters, they
will require a firm steady pressure in a clockwise
direction when viewed from the front.
