Station Management Message Set
Chapter 12
126
DATA — This variable-length field is preceded by a one-byte SIZ field.
The SIZ field specifies how many bytes of data you are sending or
receiving. The Data Size column in Table 12.A tells you the size of the
data field you need to send.
Error-reply messages have fields specific to those messages. Those fields
will be described within the description of those specific messages.
In the previous section, we described the station management fields
defined at the application layer. Here, we describe the format of each
specific type of station management command message and reply
message at the application layer.
Table 12.A lists the values you supply for the parameter ID field, the
target layer (TL) field, and the data size field. It also lists the default
value for each parameter. At initial power up, the default values are in
control. However, when you enter new values, they will remain in control
after a power loss or a reset because they are stored in non-volatile
memory. We describe the meaning of each parameter in the next section.
Parameters
Table 12.A listed the parameters that you can read from or write into node
interfaces using station-management commands. This section explains
the function of each of those parameters.
Note that of the parameters listed in Table 12.A:
Some apply to all interfaces.
Some apply to 1779-KFL interfaces only.
Some apply to 1779-KFL or -KFM interfaces only.
Some apply to 1779-KFM interfaces only.
Host-Board ID — Contains the catalog number and revision number of
the host board in the destination Data Highway II interface. The data size
is 12 through 16 bytes. You can only read this parameter.
MAC-Board ID — Contains the catalog number and revision number of
the MAC board in the destination Data Highway II interface. The data
size is 12 through 16 bytes. You can only read this parameter.
