7750 SR OS Router Configuration Guide

Router Advertisement Commands

router-advertisement

Syntax

Context

config>router

Description

This command configures router advertisement properties. By default, it is disabled for all IPv6 
enabled interfaces. 

The 

no

 form of the command disables all IPv6 interface. However, the 

no interface

 

interface-name

 

command disables a specific interface.

Default

Context

Description

This command configures router advertisement properties on a specific interface. The interface must 
already exist in the 

config>router>interface

 context.

Default

No interfaces are configured by default.

Parameters

ip-int-name — 

Specify the interface name. If the string contains special characters (#, $, spaces, etc.), 

the entire string must be enclosed within double quotes.

current-hop-limit

Syntax

current-hop-limit

Context

config>router>router-advert>if

Description

This command configures the current-hop-limit in the router advertisement messages. It informs the 
nodes on the subnet about the hop-limit when originating IPv6 packets. 

Default

64

Parameters

number — 

Specifies the hop limit.

Values

0 — 255. A value of zero means there is an unspecified number of hops.
