In that node, remove the unit and replace it with a new one.

Otherwise (i.e. when no unit failure is reported), loop the STM-1 signal at the
transmitting node and at the receiving node. In this condition, the node
reporting TU-12 Loss of pointer contains the faulty unit.

In the upstream direction, “VC-12 Remote Defect Indicator” is activated.
