GENERAL SAFETY RULES
1)
Children or individuals who are not perfectly familiar with the instructions
on use should never be allowed to use the machine. Local Law and
regulations may prescribe a minimum age for the use of the machine.
2)
Regularly check the efficiency and integrity of the machine; if in bad
condition, the machine can cause injuries to the user.
3)
Before using the machine after any blow, check for any externally visible
signs of wear and damage. If necessary, take it to an authorised assistance
centre for repair.
4)
Do not use the machine in case of damaged or missing guards or when
the cutting device is not correctly fitted, locked or if it is damaged. Check
for perfect efficiency before starting the machine.
5)
Before starting the machine, make sure that the cutting device is not
touching stones, debris or foreign bodies.
6)
Always wear adequate protective clothing when operating the machine,
to avoid injuries to face, eyes, hands, feet, head and hearing: use protective
eyewear or faceshields, high boots or sturdy shoes and trousers, work
gloves, a hard hat and hearing protection.
7)
Whilst the motor is being started up and when the machine is in operation, keep
the cutting section away from all parts of the body, especially hands and feet.
8)
Do not start the machine when it is upside down or when it is not in the
working position.
9)
Switch off the motor and pull out the plug when: the machine is not being
used, it is left unattended, it is being cleaned, it is being moved from one
place to another, the power supply or extension cable is damaged, the
spool is being removed or changed or when the length of the nylon line
is being manually adjusted.
10)
Do not move the machine by pulling on the electrical cable. Always use
the handgrip.
11)
Do not operate the machine near people, especially children, or pets;
turn it off if they get too close. Maintain the safety distance specified in
sections 10 and 11 of the marking and symbol description chapter: the
cut and ejected grass may contain rocks and dangerous debris.
12)
Remain in a stable and secure position while using the machine.
13)
Keep the area being cut free from lines, stones and debris.
14)
Do not cut against hard objects. This could cause injury or damage the machine.
15)
Never use the machine without the guard (if it is supplied separately).
Never use the machine if the guard is damaged.
WARNING! The guard is vital for your and other peoples
safety and for the machines operating efficiency. Failure to
comply with these safety regulations is not only dangerous but
also annuls the terms of the guarantee.
16)
Be careful of the line-cutting blade, which can cause serious injury.
17)
Do not try to stop the cutting device (nylon line) with your hands. Always
let it come to a stop by itself.
WARNING! After switching off the machine, the cutting
device continues to rotate for a few more seconds.
18)
Only use the original type of nylon line. Under no circumstances use
metal line instead of nylon.
19)
Do not use the machine to cut grass which is not in contact with the
ground; for example do not cut grass which is on walls or rocks etc.
20)
Do not switch on the machine in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces or
in the presence of inflammable and/or explosive substances such as
liquids, gases and powders.
21)
Within the working area, the person using the machine is responsible for
any damage or injury sustained by third parties which has been caused
by the machine.
22)
Only cut during broad daylight or with adequate artificial light.
23)
Check that all grass deposits have been removed from the ventilation vents.
24)
Do not cross roads or gravel paths with the machine still running.
25)
When the machine is not in use, store it in a dry place and out of the reach
of children.
26)
After use, disconnect the machine from the power supply and check for damage.
If you have the slightest doubts, contact an authorised service centre.
