BRIDGE LIVE Video I/O and Streaming Appliance v1.12 45 www.aja.com
Setting Up an HLS Input Stream
BRIDGE LIVE supports input stream source type HLS (HTTP Live Streaming). HLS
is an adaptive bit rate streaming protocol. If multiple streams in the HLS ladder
are present, BRIDGE LIVE automatically selects the highest quality stream for
conversion.
For BRIDGE LIVE HLS input, H.264 for HD is supported via AVC TS segments.
Fragmented MP4 is also supported for HLS input, with H.264 supporting up to
HD and H.265 supporting up to UltraHD. HLS audio formats support covers EAC3,
AC3 and AAC.
Input Stream Source
Within the pipeline you want to work with, navigate to your Input Stream source.
Select HLS as the Type.
In the HTTP or HTTPS URL field, enter your HLS Stream URL. As long as the URL is
valid, BRIDGE LIVE will ingest the input stream and auto-detect the content.
Setting the Buffer Size for HLS
When configuring the buffer size, we recommend using a value that is seven to
ten times higher than the length of the HLS segment. When starting, you will
have to wait for the set amount of time for the video to buffer before you can see
any output. If the buffer size is too short, it may cause additional buffering.
