5.4 Trouble shooting
If problems or malfunctions appear on your RE-46 PROFINET, you can use the
following table to check for possible causes and solutions.
HINT:
Please always watch the LED indicators on top of the bus system. They deliver
important information for possible failure causes.
If your problem can not be solved or is not shown in the table below, please contact
the AIRTEC support and provide a detailed failure description.
Trouble shooting table
Error symptom Possible reasons Possible solution(s)
1) LED POWER doesn't
shine or shines weakly
a) Supply voltage not correctly
connected or GND/24V are in-
terchanged
a) Check the voltages at the
power connector.

If interchanged: change polarity
b) Power supply overload b) Check the total load of all de-
vices. The maximum current is
drawn when all solenoids are
active
c) Short circuit in POWER net-
work c) Try to find the defective de-
vice which causes the short cir-
cuit. This can be done by dis-
connecting all devices consecu-
tively from the power supply un-
til the defective device is found.
Replace the defective device
d) When POWER LEDs are
flickering: loose connection or
too small cable cross-section d) Check installation. If neces-
sary increase Power cable di-
ameter.
2) BUS LEDs
FB ERR LED a) LEDs do not shine like ex-
pected or described in this
manual
a) Try to check the LEDs like
described in
chapter 3.3 to get
more details about the exact
failure reason. Verify the config-
uration of your master system
for possible configuration errors.
MD ERR LED b) LEDs do not shine like ex-
pected or described in this
manual b) Try to check the LEDs like
described in
chapter 3.3 to get
more details about the exact
failure reason.
Switch off the power supply for
some seconds and re-power the
device afterwards.
