General Information and Cleaning
The interior of all Airstream trailers has been designed
for comfort, convenience, durability, and appearance�
How you use it and how you take care of it, naturally,
depends on you� However, if you learn to operate
the interior components, and take care of them and
the trailer properly, this knowledge will add to your
pleasure, as well as the long life of your trailer�
Upholstery
To clean the Performatex
®
fabric upholstered seating,
first remove as much loose dirt as possible. Start with a
mild detergent mixed with lukewarm water to clean the
fabric� For more stubborn stains, bleach can be used
as follows: Prepare a solution of one cup of bleach
and one fourth cup of mild soap per gallon of cold to
lukewarm water� Spray the solution on entire area to be
cleaned and allow 15 minutes to soak into the fabric�
Clean the entire surface area with a sponge, clean
towel or very soft bristle brush to avoid abrading the
fabric� Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue,
then air dry� For severe cases of mold/mildew growth,
bleach quantities may be increased� It is best to clean
the entire surface area of the fabric to avoid water rings
and stains�
NOTE
Never remove cushion covers for separate dry
cleaning or washing. Any tumble cleaning method
can destroy the backing, and/or shrink or otherwise
damage upholstery fabric.
WARNING
Keep your furniture and family safe from fires
caused by careless smoking. Do not smoke when
drowsy. Remove immediately any glowing ash
or a lighted cigarette that falls onto furniture.
Smoldering smoking material can cause
upholstered furniture fires.
Curtains
The curtains are on a track� Undo the velcro at the
seams to slide them open� Airstream recommends dry
cleaning only for the curtains� To remove them, remove
the top screw from the endcap of the curtain track, pull
the endcap off, and slide the curtains off�
NOTE
All drapery materials and mattress covers must be
professionally dry-cleaned.
Interior Aluminum Skin
Interior aluminum skin can be cleaned by washing
skin with any mild non-abrasive soap or detergent�
Cleaning should be followed by a thorough clean water
rinse� Drying the unit with a chamois or a soft cloth
may prevent spots and streaks� Do not use abrasive
cleaners or utensils on the aluminum skin as it is
coated with a clear coat that could be damaged�
NOTE
When washing or polishing your trailer, always
wipe with the grain of the metal.
Interior Woodwork
The finish on the interior woodwork is a high quality
furniture finish and should be treated as any fine
furniture finish. Use a high quality furniture cleaner
which does NOT contain ammonia or bleach� One
good choice is Murphy Oil Soap Clean and Shine�
Counter Area
The counter tops are made of a high-pressure laminate
and can be cleaned with soap and water, or you can
use a common solvent on tough spots� Do not use
abrasive cleaners since they could scratch the surface�
A protective pad should always be used under hot
utensils or pans�
Sinks
Rinse and wipe sinks clean with a soft cloth after each
use� Clean sinks thoroughly at least once a week with
a mild soap� For the galley sink, use either mild soap or
a non-abrasive stainless-friendly cleaner and a non-
abrasive sponge or rag; rinse thoroughly to remove all
cleaning residue� Always clean with the grain�
NOTE
The stainless-steel galley sink has a protective
layer. To prevent damage, please refer to your
Owner’s packet and read the manufacturer’s
detailed cleaning instructions. Do not use bleach.
Do not use abrasives like steel wool or scouring
pads as they will damage your sink. Do not leave
steel or cast-iron cookware in the sink.
