If you intend to use the unit in an area exceeding 3,000 square feet in size or if
you have rooms that are segregated, you should consider an additional AirSource
3000 unit. However, do NOT place more than one air treatment unit in the
same room.
Important:
Placing the unit too close to a wall or on certain material may contribute
to a localized dusting effect because the unit can pull particulate out of the air
and certain materials generate a charge that attracts the particles. Formica and
laminated wood may be more likely to develop this effect. For best results, place
the unit on bare wood, such as a stained oak bookcase or place an insulating
material such as paper, wood, hard rubber, or Mylar between the unit and the
surface it sits upon. Avoid placing the unit on metal, plastic, wool, fur, carpet,
silk, or nylon, and place it at least 12 inches away from vertical surfaces.
While the unit is very effective at reducing airborne particles from the breathing
space, very heavy particle loads may burden the unit, requiring necessary
maintenance by the AirSource Warranty Service Center to maintain the unit’s
effectiveness. Examples may include heavy tobacco smoke (such as a cigar lounge),
frequent candle burning, use of a kerosene lamp, fireplace, or unvented stove
burning, several long haired pets, and hobbies, such as woodworking and finishing.
Positioning the unit away from these activities should reduce the direct effect on
the unit, while still providing benefit by dropping the particles out of the rest of
the breathing space away from the unit. Dust the unit with a damp cotton cloth —
using water only — as part of your normal cleaning activities. Vacuuming the vents
of the unit will remove most of the dust build up.
Cleaning
Unplug the unit and use a water-dampened cloth to remove dust particles that
may accumulate on the unit. Do not use harsh detergents, abrasives, furniture
cleaner, solvents, or polishes. Do not spray water or cleaners directly on the unit.
