6. Direct mode (DMO)
The direct mode (DMO) provides your device the ability to communicate
directly with other devices independent of the TETRA network. This mode is
useful for example in situations where the signal strength is poor or when
there is a high load in the TETRA network.
Note:
It is not possible to initiate individual calls in DMO.
Activating Direct Mode
To activate direct mode, select one of the following options:

Switch direct mode on in the PMR settings in Android settings.
When DMO is activated, the Android Status
Bar changes to yellow to indicate that your
device is in a different mode. The direct mode
icon and TETRA signal indicator
icon
are displayed in the Android Status Bar while
your device is in the direct mode. If scanning is
on in DMO, also the Scanning indicator
icon is displayed.
The selected DMO group
and DMO
channel
are displayed in the PMR Status
Bar. The available DMO groups and channels
are defined by your organisation.
