When the network registration succeeds, the
In Service
tone is played and the
TETRA network’s signal strength is indicated by the TETRA signal
indicator
icon in the Android Status Bar. If the device has been out of
network coverage before re-establishing a connection to the TETRA network,
the constant red LED - which indicates the device being out of service - is
turned off.
If the network registration fails, the
No service
tone is played, the LED is a
constant red, and the TETRA out of service indicator
is displayed in the
Android Status Bar.
The selected TMO folder and group are shown in the PMR Status Bar.
TETRA transmission barring
The airplane mode can be activated by swiping down from the top of the
screen twice or by selecting it from the
menu. When the airplane
mode is activated, also the TETRA transmission barring is active. The device
does not send any signals to the network, and only limited network services
are available.
Note:
The airplane mode cannot be activated during an emergency
call.
When the TETRA transmission barring is active, the device cannot re-register
to the network, for example, if it is switched off and then on again. If you try to
participate in the group call by pressing the
PTT
button, the attempt fails and
an error message in the PMR Status Bar reminds you that transmission
barring is activated.
The limited network services in the network mode are only available in the
coverage area of the network cell where the device was last registered. The
device cannot register to other network cells while transmission barring is
active, and therefore the area of operation may be limited.
