MILSCOPE FUNCTIONALITY

This section describes the functionality of the MILScope part on an APE1553-1/2-DS module
and are only available on the –DS (digital scope) versions. On an APE1553-2-DS module, the
MILScope functionality is only available for MILbus Channel 1.

4.1

S

tructure of the APE1553-1/2-DS

The function of the MILScope is divided into two main parts, the coupling and data conversion
on the PBI (Physical Bus Interface), and the data analysis implemented in the FPGA on the
Mainboard.

o PBI Section:

- Two channel A/D-Converter

- Different coupling modes between the A/D-Converter and

MILbus/External-I/F connections

o Main Board section:

- FPGA with data sequencer and analysis of the A/DC

samples (trigger, storage, A/DC control...)

- ASP processor data storage and interface

functions from the Host to the FPGA

(A/DC control functions)

- Program memory for A/DC data buffer

The following figure (4.1-1) shows the structure of the different MILScope parts.
