4. Using Arinc 429 Functionality

Furthermore the Industry Standard Linux Operating System on the ASP offers the
environment for the:
- execution of customer Python scripts.
- execution of customer applications written in C/C++ (not described herein and
costed option)
- usage of standard network protocols, e.g. TCP and UDP, from customer
applications over the ANET's Ethernet interface.
- support of Mass Storage drives over the ANET USB 2.0 host port
- support of WiFi network interface devices via the USB port.
- access via Secure Shell (SSH) and Secure Copy (SCP) clients
For the execution of Python Scripts, the ANET onboard Linux system incorporates a
pre-
installed Python installation by default, which is ‘Ready-To-Go’ and can execute
Python scripts. For a detailed description on how to access AIM Arinc 429 API library

4.4.2 Connecting to ANET Devices via SSH
For execution, control and development of ANET onboard Python scripts, a Secure
Shell (SSH) client connection is required.
On Windows OS based host PCs you have to install a SSH client application. The
explanations in this document are based on the use of
PuTTY . Though any other SSH
client can be used.
When using a Linux OS based host PC, the command line tool ‘ssh’, which is included
in most standard distributions, can be used to establish a console connection to ANET
devices.
For establishing a SSH connection, the IP address or network name of the ANET is
required. This can be typically queried via the AIM Network Detection Tool (see 3.3)
which is found in the BSP installation directory. With the corresponding settings a SSH
connection needs to be established e.g. via the PuTTY tool. Select the SSH connection
type, enter the ANET IP address or network name and click ‘Open’ button (see Figure
4-4).
