Picking Up:
Leaves and debris are dislodged
by the brush and flails as the ma
-
chine moves across the working
area. Observe the access win-
dows on each side of the pick-up
to see the flow of material. All
material should move smoothly
through the area behind the win-
dows.
When material stops flowing past
the windows, stop the forward
motion and set engine speed at
low idle. In most cases, the ma-
terial will fall back to the ground.
Back up 3 feet (1 m) to clear the
pick-up head. Slowly increase
blower speed to pick up material
and clear the plug.
If stopping forward motion does
not clear plug, stop the engine
on the machine if the flow stops.
Open the window and clean out
the duct prior to resuming work.
If the material is very wet and
sticky, it can plug the chopper.
Place all the controls in NEU-
TRAL, stop engine, remove igni-
tion key and wait for all moving
parts to stop before removing
chopper cover and unplugging.
Close and secure cover after
chopper is unplugged.
