Installation and Verification Manual

Set the oscilloscope to

Eye Measure

mode and setup to

measure the

Average Power

(in dBm) and

Extinction Ratio.

Check the Average Optical Power is between:

–5 dBm to +0 dBm (for 1310 nm)

–2 dBm to +3 dBm (for 1550 nm)

Check the Extinction Ratio is greater than

8.2 dB

and record

the measured value.

N O T E

Ensure Vertical Calibration and Extinction Ratio Calibration have been
performed for the oscilloscope channel and vertical sensitivity range to
ensure measurement accuracy. Refer to oscilloscope information/Help if
necessary
