Installation and Verification Manual

Performance Tests

Set the Test Set to display the Frequency Measurement and 
ppm Offset results and check these are between:

1543993 and 1544007 Hz.

–4.5 and +4.5 ppm

Change the test setup as follows. Disconnect the loopback 
connection between Test Set Tx/Rx then connect the 
OmniBER OTN DS1 Clock Out port to the Test Set DS1 
Receive port using the Bantam to Bantam cable.

Check there are no Alarms/Errors indicated by the Test Set 
Receiver.

Set the Test Set to display the Frequency Offset Measurement 
result and check this is between:

–9 ppm and +9 ppm

Subtract the ppm Test Set error noted in step 9 from the 
result in step 12 to give the OmniBER OTN Transmitter DS1 
Bits frequency error in ppm and check this is between:

–4.5 ppm and +4.5 ppm
