Using VNC for Troubleshooting

Using VNC for Troubleshooting

For troubleshooting and diagnostic purposes only, VNC ports are
available for AICs starting with Revision B image 8.0.190a. These
ports are normally closed. To use them, you must open the ports
manually using the following procedure.

1.

In Windows, click

Start

and then select

All Programs.

Select

Accessories

and then

Command Prompt.

2.

Run the following commands from the command prompt:

> netsh firewall add portopening protocol = TCP port = 5800
name = "VNC" mode = ENABLE profile = ALL

> netsh firewall add portopening protocol = TCP port = 5900
name = "VNC" mode = ENABLE profile = ALL

It is also possible to open these ports using the Windows Firewall
Advanced Settings dialog.

Note

The VNC ports should be opened only by
an administrator for purposes of
troubleshooting and diagnostics. The
ports should be closed after
troubleshooting is finished.
