Revision A Installation and Configuration

Before You Begin

Verify what revision of the Agilent Instrument Controller you have.
Revision A (black in color) is described in this section.

Support of Rev. A AIC is limited to existing drivers with exiting
instruments. Configuring newer drivers types based on .Net
technology will cause errors or show insufficient
performance/stability.

The installation and configuration of the AIC is part of the overall
installation of the data system software. In order to configure the
AIC, some steps in the data system installation must already have
been completed.

If you have not already done so, please begin installation of the
data system software. After the necessary preliminary steps have
been completed, the data system installation guide will direct you
to this document to configure the AIC.

Note

Agilent Technologies, Inc. recommends that
you put the Agilent Instrument Controller unit
in the upright position, using the stand
included in the package.
When you need to install or update the AIC
software, you must use a USB memory stick.
To verify the memory stick is functioning prior
to use, connect it to an available USB port on
a PC, make sure it is recognized, and select
“take no action” when prompted.

AIC Configuration Steps

To configure the AIC, do the following:

1.

Attach a monitor, keyboard and mouse. This is temporary
for the purpose of installing and configuring the AIC only.
