changes relative to the mean power caused by variable backreflection
within given limits.
Conditions:

minimum return loss as pecified, all polarization states of
backreflection included.
Measurement:
The change of the output power is monitored while the
source’s susceptibility to backreflection is tested by disturbing the
laser oscillation with power reflected back into the laser,

, backreflection sensitivity has its
maximum when the states of polarization (SOP) of

should be done at various power levels of

to address the fact that

the highest backreflection is the most critical by experience.
