2.7. Motor Wiring
The forcer is supplied with flying leads for the motor winding, Hall effect devices, and thermal overload
sensor. The customer supplies all external wiring to interface with these devices. This supplied wiring must
meet certain requirements to provide for safe and reliable operation.
The wiring must be able to supply the rated current without overheating. The wire insulation must be rated for
the voltage and temperature at which the motor is operating. And, efforts must also be made to reduce EMI
emissions and to increase EMI immunity through proper cable selection and installation. In addition to
supplying the external wiring, the customer is also responsible for providing over-current protection for the
motor.
Guidelines are given in the following sections to help with the selection and installation of the wiring.
