Introduction

SOM-5883 is a COM Express Type 6 Basic Module with an 11

Gen Intel

Core™

processor. It delivers octa-core computing performance under TDP 45W, while pro

viding Intel Iris Xe graphics, and Advantech’s Edge AI Suite software toolkit.

SOM-5883’s memory supports up to 128GB DDR4 3200 RAM (1.7 x computing per

formance growth and 1.5 x the 3D graphics performance when compared to previous

generation solutions). It supports numerous super-speed I/O interfaces e.g. PCIe

Gen 4 (16GT/s), 2.5Gbase-T, and USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps). SOM-5883 also sup

ports the use of 4 x 4K independent displays via 3 x DisplayPort 1.4/HDMI 2.1, 1 x

optional eDP or LVDS, and 1 x VGA interface. SOM-5883 can be configured with up

to 2 x 8K HDR outputs. It also supports optional NVMe SSD, TPM 2.0 on-board

design, 8.5 ~ 20V power input, and wide operating temperatures (-40 ~ 85 °C; - 40 ~

185 °F). It includes a heat spreader & QFCS solution.

Advantech iManager (SUSI 4) satisfies diverse embedded application requirements

by providing a multi-level watchdog timer, voltage and temperature monitoring, ther

mal protection and mitigation through processor throttling, LCD backlight on/off and

brightness control, and embedded storage for customized information. By combining

Advantech WISE-PaaS/RMM, it can monitor and control devices remotely over the

internet for easy maintenance. All Advantech SMARC modules integrate iManager

and WISE-PaaS/RMM as an add-on value for diverse customer applications.
