Queue
Use the CoS Interface Queue Configuration page to define the behavior of the
egress CoS queues on each interface. User-configurable parameters control the
amount of bandwidth used by the queue, the queue depth during times of conges-
tion, and the scheduling of packet transmission from the set of all queues on an inter-
face. Each interface has its own CoS queue-related configuration.

The following table describes the items in the previous figure.
Trust Mode
The trust mode for ingress traffic on the interface, which is one of the
following:
untrusted: The interface ignores any priority designations
encoded in incoming packets, and instead sends the packets to a
traffic queue based on the ingress port's default priority.
trust dot1p: The port accepts at face value the 802.1p priority
designation encoded within packets arriving on the port.
trust ip dscp: The port accepts at face value the IP DSCP priority
designation encoded within packets arriving on the port.
Shaping Rate
The upper limit on how much traffic can leave a port. The limit on max-
imum transmission bandwidth has the effect of smoothing temporary
traffic bursts over time so that the transmitted traffic rate is bounded.
The specified value represents a percentage of the maximum negoti-
ated bandwidth.
Ingress Rate Limit
The upper limit on how much traffic can enter a port. The limit on max-
imum reception bandwidth has the effect of smoothing temporary traf-
fic bursts over time so that the received traffic rate is bounded. The
specified value represents a percentage of the maximum negotiated
bandwidth.

Description
Interface
The interface to configure. To configure the same settings on all inter-
faces, select the Global menu option.
Total Minimum
Bandwidth Alloca-
tion
Shows the total minimum bandwidth allocation to the selected interface
for all the queues.
Queue ID
The CoS queue. The higher the queue value, the higher its priority is
for sending traffic.
