Antenna cap, service USB, SIM card slot

10.1.

Opening/closing the antenna cap

You need to remove the antenna cap from the unit:

−

To access the service USB interface.

−

To access the SIM card slot.

ATTENTION: Physical damage

Improper opening of the antenna cap can impair the function of the entire DLT-V83

system and in particular the Wi-Fi and WWAN functionality.



Open the antenna cap carefully to gain access to the service USB port and SIM card slot.

One end of the antenna connection cables is attached to the antenna cap; the other end is

attached to the internal Wi-Fi/WWAN unit of the DLT-V83.



The cables must not be pulled out of the DLT-V83 too far and become detached from the

Wi-Fi/WWAN unit! This might damage the Wi-Fi/WWAN unit or other components of the

device.

The antenna cap may only remain open for the duration of the service work.

No objects or liquids may enter the opened DLT-V83 during this.

Only when the antenna cap is properly closed again may operation be resumed; the protection

class/category is only ensured again after doing so.

Appropriate procedure



Unscrew the two screws from the antenna cap.

- Use an Allen wrench (size 3 mm) for high Advantech-DLoG standard antennas.

- Use a Torx wrench for Advantech-DLoG low profile antennas.



Lift the antenna cap carefully to avoid pulling on the antenna connection cables

(max. 2 to 3 cm).



Keep hold of the antenna cap, making sure that no pulling tension is exerted on the antenna

connection cables.

Service USB interface and SIM card slot are now accessible.
